Rob Schremp Named the CHL Player of the Week

Toronto – The Canadian Hockey League announced today that London Knights forward Rob Schremp is the CHL Player of the Week.

Schremp was named the CHL’s Player of the Week after scoring five goals and 10 points in three wins last week. Schremp was the first star with two goals and an assist in a 5-4 shootout win over the Erie Otters on February 3. He added a goal and two assists in a 6-2 win over the Kingston Frontenacs on February 4 and was the first star again after scoring two goals and two assists in a 7-2 win over the Mississauga IceDogs on February 5.

The 19-year-old from Fulton, New York extended his point scoring streak to 16 straight games dating back to December 16. During that span, he has scored 13 goals and 40 points. Schremp is the OHL’s scoring leader with 43 goals and 70 assists for 113 points in 41 games.

Derek Yeomans of the Kelowna Rockets was the WHL Player of the Week after picking up three wins while posting a 0.67 goals against average and a .962 save percentage. Yeomans was also named the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week. Derick Brassard of the Drummondville Voltigeurs was the QMJHL’s Offensive Player of the Week after scoring six goals and adding three assists in three contests. Brassard’s most impressive game came last Friday when he scored a hat-trick in the third period to help erase a two goal deficit as the Voltigeurs defeated the PEI Rocket by a score of 4-3. Michal Sersen of the Quebec Remparts was the QMJHL’s Defensive Player of the Week after collecting two goals and five assists in four games. Sersen is second in scoring amongst QMJHL defencemen with 58 points this season.
