There is a handful of top prospects for the 2013 NHL Draft taking part at the 2013 World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia. While no player from this group has been dominating at this tournament, one player who has most likely solidified his status as a top prospect, and maybe THE top prospect, for this draft is USA defenseman, Seth Jones.
Jones is part of a strong defensive contingent that has been iced by USA head coach Phil Housley. Housley has given his young defender plenty of ice time at the WJC, and Jones has rewarded Housley with a good performance at both ends of the ice.
After six WJC games, Jones has scored one goal and added six assists to go along with a matching +7 rating that ties him for the lead in that category at this tournament. The Portland Winterhawks defender has gotten better as the tournament has progressed, with Jones and his teammates now having a chance to take home a gold medal for the first time since 2010.
Jones met with the media following the USA's 5-1 win over Canada, with a portion of those comments captured in this HF video.
