Francois Thuot Named the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week

Toronto – The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Saginaw Spirit goaltender Francois Thuot is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week after helping the Spirit climb into first place in the West Division of the OHL Western Conference.

Thuot, a native of Montreal, Quebec posted a goals against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .976 last week while finishing the week with a 2-0 record. Thuot was the first star in a 5-1 win over the Erie Otters after making 38 saves on February 23. The Spirit goaltender followed up that display with a 43 save performance and was again named first star in a 4-1 win over the Plymouth Whalers on February 26.

Each week during the regular season, the CHL will recognize the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL’s top netminder at the conclusion of the 2005-06 season.
