Alexander Radulov Named the CHL Player of the Week

Toronto – The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Quebec Remparts forward Alexander Radulov is the CHL Player of the Week.

Radulov scored eight goals and assisted on four others in three games while notching a plus eight mark on the week. The Remparts forward had a career game on Sunday; scoring seven goals and four assists in a 16-3 win over the Rimouski OcĂ©anic. Radulov finished the season as the CHL’s top scorer, totalling 60 goals and 152 points. In a 2-1 loss to Chicoutimi on Friday night, Radulov’s point streak of 50 games came to an end. This streak ended as the second longest in QMJHL history to Mario Lemieux’s record of 61 games established during the 1983-84 season.

Roman Psurny of the Medicine Hat Tigers was the WHL Player of the Week after scoring five goals and eight points while helping the Tigers finish the regular season on a 2-0-0-1 record and atop the WHL standings. It was the first time in 20 years that the Tigers have achieve this feat. Wojtek Wolski was the OHL Player of the Week after scoring four goals and nine points in three wins last week to help the Battalion finish at the top of the Central Division standings. Wolski finished the season with 47 goals and 128 points in 56 games this season. Chad Denny of the Lewiston MAINEiacs was named the QMJHL’s Defensive Player of the Week for posting a plus seven ranking while providing the MAINEiacs with several strong defensive performances. The MAINEiacs defender also had three goals and six points on the week.
