Rob Schremp Named the CHL Player of the Week

Toronto – The Canadian Hockey League announced today that London Knights forward Rob Schremp is the CHL Player of the Week.

Rob Schremp was the OHL Player of the Week after scoring three goals and 10 points in three wins last week to help Knights get out to a 3-0 series lead over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Schremp started the week with five assists in London’s 6-1 win in Game 1. The Knights forward then scored a goal and two assists in a 6-3 win in Game 2 on March 24 and finished the week with a pair of powerplay goals that tied Game 3 in the third period. London eventually scored in overtime to go up 3-0 in the series. Schremp is currently tied with teammate Sergei Kostitsyn for the OHL playoff scoring lead. Schremp finished the regular season with 57 goals and 145 points in 57 games to win the OHL scoring title.

Daine Todd of the Medicine Hat Tigers was the WHL Player of the Week after scoring four goals and five points and helping the Medicine Hat Tigers jump out to a 2-0 series lead over the Swift Current Broncos. Todd’s best game came on Saturday when the Tiger forward had a hat-trick and an assist in a 7-1 win. Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday night back in Swift Current. David Krejci was the top player in the QMJHL last week after scoring two goals and nine points to help the Gatineau Olympiques pull out to a 2-0 series lead on the Drummondville Voltigeurs. Krejci posted a plus six mark on the week and his nine points leads all QMJHL scorers. Krejci finished the regular season with 27 goals and 81 points in 55 games to finish second in scoring on the Olympiques.
