Julien Ellis Named the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week

Toronto - The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Shawinigan Cataractes goaltender Julien Ellis is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Sunday April 2 after posting three straight wins and helping his club move onto the second round of the QMJHL playoffs.
Ellis, a native of Sorel, Quebec posted a goals against average of 0.67 and a save percentage of .980 last week. After splitting Games 1 & 2 with Rouyn-Noranda the series went back to Shawinigan where Ellis stepped up his play to an impressive level. In Game 3 Ellis had 33 saves in a 5-0 shutout win. Game 4 the Cataractes came away with a 4-2 win, which saw Ellis pick up 31 saves in the victory. Game 5 had Ellis at his best again as he picked up 32 saves in a 4-0 shutout win. The Cataractes will now take on the Quebec Remparts.
Each week during the regular season, the CHL will recognize the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL's top netminder at the conclusion of the 2005-06 season.
