Chilliwack Bruins Press Release

With their first selection in the 2006 CHL Import Draft the Chilliwack Bruins have selected 17 year old Swedish forward Oscar Moller. Moller split time last season between the Djurgårdens Under 18 and Under 20 teams in Sweden. After scoring eight goals and seven assists in seven games with the U18 team, Moller was called up to the U20’s where he notched eight goals to go with five assists in 25 games. Moller was also a member of Team Sweden at the 2006 Mac’s Midget Tournament in Calgary, where he led his team to the gold medal with six goals and three assists in six games, including a hat trick in the final game.

Bruins General Manager Darrell May:

“Oscar is a skilled player with leadership qualities. He’s a strong skater with a great shot. We saw him play at the Mac’s tournament over Christmas and were very impressed. He should have no problem adjusting to the North American game.”
