USA captain JT Compher and his teammates had played in two tight contests to begin the 2013 U18 World Junior Championship, so the team no doubt welcomed a game in which there was little doubt of the outcome.

Team USA rolled over Latvia 7-1 on Day 4 of the U18 WJC. 14 players registered at least one point in the game, with Compher being a part of the one-point contingent with one assist. The USA controlled play early, jumping out to a 4-0 lead after one period and never looked back after that.

Compher, a native of Northbrook, IL, competed at last year's U18 as a member of Team USA's gold medal-winning squad. He registered five points in six games at that tournament, but has already equaled that point total (2G, 3A) at this year's U18 after just three games.

Compher spoke with Hockey's Future following the win over Latvia.
