Toronto – The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Dustin Jeffrey of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday November 26 after scoring two goals and nine assists for 11 points in three games.
The Sarnia, ON native had four assists and was named the game’s first star as the Greyhounds picked up a 6-3 road victory over Saginaw on November 22. Jeffrey scored a goal, added two assists and was a plus four on the night as Sault St. Marie defeated Owen Sound 7-4 on November 24 and he finished off his week with a goal and three assists and was the first star again as the Greyhounds fell to Ottawa 5-4 in a shootout on November 25.
Jeffrey also represented the OHL in the 2006 ADT Canada Russia Series in Sarnia, last week, picking up a pair of assists, including one on the winning goal. He currently leads the Greyhounds with a career high 42 points.
Martin Hanzal of the Red Deer Rebels was the WHL nominee for the honour after scoring two goals and eight points in three games last week while Kristopher Letang of the Val d’Or Foreurs was the QMJHL nominee after scoring four goals and six points in two games.
