Calgary – The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is forward Riley Holzapfel of the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Holzapfel earned player of the week honours by recording three goals and eight points, and a +4 rating in three games during the week of December 4th to December 10th, leading the Warriors to three straight victories in that span.
On Tuesday, December 5th, Holzapfel notched one goal and three assists, including assisting on the overtime game-winning goal, as the Warriors beat the Brandon Wheat Kings 5-4 in Moose Jaw.
On Friday, December 8th, Holzapfel scored two goals, including the game-winner, and added two assists to lead the Warriors to a 5-2 victory over the visiting Swift Current Broncos.
Holzapfel, an 18-year-old from Regina, SK, was the Atlanta Thrashers’ second round pick (43rd overall) at the 2006 NHL Draft.
