Kevin Beech named ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week
Toronto – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Kevin Beech of the Sudbury Wolves is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week after posting a 3-0-0-0 record along with a 1.33 goals against average and .956 save percentage in three starts last week.
Beech started the week by allowing one goal on 30 shots in a 4-1 win over the Brampton Battalion on December 15. The next night, the 20-year-old London native allowed one goal on 28 shots in a 5-1 win over the Peterborough Petes and he finished the week with goals on 32 shots in a 4-2 win over the Mississauga IceDogs on December 17. He improved his season record to 15-12-1-2 with a 3.08 goals against average and .900 save percentage in 32 games.
Pier-Olivier Pelletier of the Drummondville Voltigeurs was the QMJHL nominee after posting a 2-0-0-0 record with a 2.00 GAA and .935 save percentage and Taylor Dakers of the Kootenay Ice was the WHL nominee after allowing one goal in a pair of wins last week.
Each week the CHL recognizes the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL’s top netminder at the conclusion of the 2006-07 season.
