Toronto – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Ottawa 67’s forward Jamie McGinn is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending December 17, 2006. The Fergus, Ontario native scored four goals and added five assists for nine points in three games this past weekend. He also finished the week with a plus/minus rating of plus seven.
McGinn, the 67’s leading scorer this season enjoyed a five point night and was named the game’s first star on Friday with a goal and four assists while pacing the 67’s to a 8-4 victory over the Toronto St. Michael’s Majors. In the second game of a home and home series played at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa on Saturday, McGinn contributed with an assist in the 67’s 4-1 win over the Majors. The following day in a key divisional match-up, McGinn scored a hat trick in Kingston to lead the 67’s to a 4-1 win over the Frontenacs and was also named the game’s first star for his efforts.
