Calgary – The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is forward Reid Jorgensen of the Kamloops Blazers.
Jorgensen earned player of the week honours by recording five goals and eight points in three games during the week of December 25th to December 31st, leading the Blazers to three straight victories in that span.
On Thursday, December 28th, Jorgensen notched one goal – the game-tying tally – and one assist, and scored a shootout goal as the Blazers beat the Vancouver Giants 4-3 in a shootout in Vancouver.
On Friday, December 29th, Jorgensen scored two power play goals, including the overtime game-winner, and notched an assist to lead the Blazers to a 5-4 overtime victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors.
On Saturday, December 30th, Jorgensen scored two goals, including his second consecutive game-winner, and added an assist as the Blazers beat the Prince George Cougars 6-1 in Kamloops.
Jorgensen was named the game’s 2nd Star on Thursday, and the game’s 1st Star on both Friday and Saturday.
Jorgensen, a 20-year-old from White Rock, B.C., is in his fifth WHL season.
Honourable mention goes to Michael Grabner of the Spokane Chiefs, Colton Yellow Horn of the Tri-City Americans, and Milan Lucic of the Vancouver Giants.
