Blues Get 1st & 3rd Round Picks in ’07, 2nd Round Pick in ’08 and Glen Metropolit
Blues Will Acquire A 1st Round Draft Choice In 2008 If Atlanta Re-Signs Tkachuk
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the team has traded forward Keith Tkachuk to the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for a first round draft choice in 2007, a third round draft choice in 2007, a second round draft choice in 2008 and forward Glen Metropolit.
In addition, if Atlanta re-signs Tkachuk, the Blues will acquire a first round draft choice in 2008.
“We want to thank Keith for his time and dedication to the Blues organization over the past six years,” said Davidson. “We wish him and his family nothing but the best for the future.”
Metropolit, 32, has played in 57 games for Atlanta this season, recording 28 points (12 goals, 16 assists) along with 20 penalty minutes. The 6-0, 195-pound forward has played in a total of 160 NHL games, amassing 75 points (22 goals, 53 assists) while playing for the Washington Capitals, Tampa Bay Lightning and Atlanta. The Toronto, Ontario native was originally signed by Washington as an undrafted free agent on July 19, 1999.
