In only two games, Voracek recorded three goals and three assists while maintaining a +4 differential. Furthermore, he had a hand in 6 of the team’s 12 goals to help the Mooseheads collect two wins. Last Friday, he registered three points in a 6-4 win over the Remparts. Then, on Saturday, he scored his 21st and 22nd goals of the season in a 6-3 victory over the Cataractes. Voracek earned first star honours in both contests. He leads all QMJHL rookies in game-winning goals (6), assists (56) and points (78). Moreover, he established a new franchise mark with his 56th assist of the season last Saturday (Ladislav Nagy had 55 in 1998-99).
Matt Marquardt (6-1-7) of the Wildcats, Logan MacMillan (1-6-7) of the Mooseheads and Toby Lafrance (5-1-6) of the Tigres were also considered.
The defensive player of the week award goes to Michaël Dupont. In three starts, the third-year goaltender registered two road wins while posting a 1.55 goals-against-average and .929 save percentage. He helped the Drakkar defeat the Saguenéens 2-1 in overtime – collecting first star honours – as well as the Titan 4-3 in a shootout. His only loss came against the Océanic last Friday as he stopped 32 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss. The Drakkar registered five out of a possible six points last week despite scoring only six goals in three games.
Defensemen Jean-Claude Sawyer (1-4-5; +1) of the Screaming Eagles and Andrew MacDonald (1-3-4; +2) of the Wildcats as well as goaltender Ondrej Pavelec (3-0-0; 180 MIN; 1.67 GAA; .932 SAV %) of the Screaming Eagles were also considered.
