Although the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament received most of the attention in August, another prospect showcase that took place in Slovakia, the U17 Five Nations Tournament, also featured some potential future NHL Draft material.
One player from the gold medal-winning Team USA squad, defenseman Tory Dello, turned in a solid performance at the Five Nations. Although his performance didn't necessarily show in his statistics – one assist and 10 penalty minutes in four games – Dello displayed good leadership qualities, no doubt one of the reasons he was chosen to captain this U.S. squad.
Dello played for the Chicago Mission of the HPHL last season, but also made his USHL debut with the Tri-City Storm, appearing in three games for that club. He will play his first full season with the Storm in the 2013-14 campaign.
Hockey's Future spoke with Dello at the Five Nations, a conversation that is captured in this HF video.
