Dorsett, Rabbit Named Conference Championship Series MVPs

Derek Dorsett of the Medicine Hat Tigers and Wacey Rabbit of the Vancouver Giants have been named MVP of their respective Conference Championship series’.

Dorsett, a product of Kindersley, SK, notched four goals and six points to help lead the Tigers to the MNP Eastern Conference Championship with a 4-1 best-of-seven series win over the Calgary Hitmen.

Dorsett, a Columbus Blue Jackets prospect, has tallied eight goals and 14 points in 11 post-season games for the Tigers, and is currently enjoying an eight-game point streak.

Wacey Rabbit was named MVP of the Kal Tire Western Conference Championship series after leading the Giants to their second straight Western Conference Championship with a 4-1 best-of-seven series win over the Prince George Cougars.

Rabbit notched six goals and eight points in the Giants’ series victory over the Cougars. The Lethbridge, AB product tallied a career-high four goals in the Giants’ Game 2 victory over the Cougars, while also notching the game-winner in Game 5 to lift the Giants to the Conference title.

Rabbit, a Boston Bruins prospect, has tallied eight goals and 14 points in 15 games for the Giants during the 2007 WHL Playoffs.
