Toronto – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Sudbury Wolves goaltender Sebastian Dahm is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending April 29, 2007.
Dahm, a 20-year-old-native of Copenhagen, Denmark posted three victories in three playoff games during the week of April 23rd to April 29th, allowing six goals on 120 shots earning him a 1.52 goals against average and a .950 save percentage. Dahm’s fine play helped the Wolves close out the Rogers Eastern Conference Championship Series 4-2 over the Belleville Bulls.
On Monday, April 23rd, Dahm turned aside 23 of 25 shots he faced leading the Wolves to a 3-2 overtime victory in Game 4 of the Rogers Eastern Conference Championship Series. Two nights later Dahm recorded 35 saves on 36 shots as he guided the Wolves to a 4-1 victory in Game 5 of their best-of-seven series versus the Belleville Bulls. On Friday, April 27th, Dahm stopped 56 of 59 shots he faced in a thrilling 4-3 triple overtime victory in Game 6. The victory clinched a berth for the Wolves in the Rogers Conference Championship Series.
Jonathan Bernier of the Lewiston MAINEiacs was the QMJHL goaltender nominee after posting a 3.00 goals against average and a .910 save percentage in two playoff games. Tyson Sexsmith of the Vancouver Giants was the WHL goaltender nominee after posting a 1.63 goals against average and a .918 save percentage in three playoff games.
Each week the CHL recognizes the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week and will present the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Year Award to the CHL’s top netminder at the conclusion of the 2006-07 season.
