Keetley Named BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week

Calgary – The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is goaltender Matt Keetley of the Medicine Hat Tigers. Keetley earned player of the week honours after posting a 1-1 record while stopping 59 of 62 shots he faced for a 1.51 goals-against average and a .952 save percentage through the opening two games of the 2007 WHL Championship series versus the Vancouver Giants.

On Friday, May 4th, Keetley stopped 32 of 33 shots he faced as the Tigers fell 1-0 to the visiting Giants in Game 1 of the 2007 WHL Championship series. He was named the game’s 1st star.

On Saturday, May 5th, Keetley turned aside 27 of 29 shots he faced to backstop the Tigers to a 3-2 victory over the visiting Giants in Game 2, evening up the best-of-seven series at 1-1. He was named the 1st star for the second straight game.

Keetley, a Medicine Hat product, was the Calgary Flames’ 5th round pick (158th overall) at the 2005 NHL Draft.

Keetley is also the WHL nominee for the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week.
