IIHF News: Final 2007 IIHF World Ranking & Canada 2008 Groups

Sweden still on top of IIHF World Ranking, joins Czechs and Russia in Quebec City 2008. Canada, Finland and USA play in Halifax.

Despite finishing fourth at the 2007 IIHF World Championship in Russia, Sweden is still ranked number one in the final 2007 IIHF Men’s World Ranking. World Champion Canada is the new second, seventy points behind the Swedes. The Czech Republic, second coming into Moscow, fell back to fourth position, while Finland advanced from fourth to third.

The World Ranking has also determined the four groups for the 2008 IIHF World Championship in Quebec City and Halifax, Canada (May 1 – 18).
