ISS Draft Rankings: Top 2014 duo holds steady, but plenty of movement among other prospects

While there is no change at the very top of the October edition of ISS Hockey's ranking of the top 30 2014 NHL Draft prospects, there is a fair amount of movement throughout most of the rest of this month's rankings.

Holding the top two slots again this month are Kootenay Ice center Sam Reinhart and Barrie Colts defenseman Aaron Ekblad. After those two players, though, there is both upward and downward movement for most of the players in the 28 slots behind Reinhart and Ekblad.

Moving up three places to the third position on this list is Oshawa Generals forward Michael Dal Colle. Falling one position from the September rankings is the fourth-ranked prospect for October, Willie Nylander. Holding steady in the fifth slot is Nylander's fellow Swedish countryman, left wing Anton Karlsson.

Making the biggest jump in the rankings this month is Red Deer Rebels forward Connor Bleackley. Bleackley was ranked 27th in the September rankings but moved up to the 15th position in this month's rankings.

"Conner Bleackley is Red Deer's most dangerous offensive player and has clear leadership qualities”, says ISS Hockey Director of Scouting Dennis MacInnis. “He has a great pure release on his shot and knows how to place shots dangerously, but he can also be a good playmaker and a strong skater with good balance and shifty edge usage”.

The U.S. NTDP organization placed the most players in this month's rankings with three players making the list. The Kingston Frontenacs, Red Deer Rebels and Sarnia Sting placed two players apiece in this month's rankings.

Below is the top 30 draft prospects for October as ranked by ISS Hockey.
