Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds forward Dustin Jeffrey is the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 7, 2007. Jeffrey recorded three goals and six assists for nine points in three games.
On Thursday, October 4th, Jeffrey registered one goal and one assist for two points in a 5-3 victory over the Peterborough Petes. The following night, Jeffrey scored one goal in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Kingston Frontenacs. On Sunday, October 7th, Jeffrey netted a goal and five assists for six points resulting in a 6-2 victory over the Ottawa 67’s.
Jeffrey, a 19 year-old native of Courtright, Ontario is tied for fifth in OHL scoring with four goals and eight assists for 12 points in five games.
Jeffrey was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the sixth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
The Greyhounds currently sit atop the Western Conference standings with 15 points posting a 7-0-1-0 record.
