Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Kyle Gajewski of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending October 14, 2007. Gajewski posted three consecutive victories last week with a 1.670 goals-against average and a ..943 save percentage.
Gajewski turned aside 30 shots on Wednesday, October 10th guiding the Greyhounds to a 7-2 victory over the Sarnia Sting. On Friday, October 12th Gajewski registered 27 saves in a 5-1 win over the Saginaw Spirit. On Sunday, October 14th Gajewski recorded 25 saves in a 4-2 victory over the defending OHL Champion Plymouth Whalers. Gajewski received a star for his efforts in each victory.
Marco Cousineau of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar was the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League nominee after posting a 1.50 goals-against average and a .949 save percentage during two victories. Kristofer Westblom of the Kelowna Rockets was the Western Hockey League nominee after he recorded a shutout victory in his lone start last week.
