Spaling Named Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week

Toronto – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that forward Nick Spaling of the Kitchener Rangers is the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday October 21, 2007. Spaling recorded six goals and two assists for eight points in three games this past week.

On Thursday October 18th, Spaling registered one goal in a 4-3 loss to the Barrie Colts. The following night, he scored two goals and one assist for three points in a 6-4 victory over the Owen Sound Attack. On Sunday October 21st, the 19 year-old native of Drayton, Ontario scored three goals and one assist for four points en route to a 6-5 victory over the Guelph Storm. He was named the games first star for his efforts.

Spaling is in his third season with the Rangers and is currently tied for 13th in OHL scoring with 12 goals and six assists for 18 points in 10 games. The Rangers sit atop the Midwest Division with 16 points.
