Yannick Weber Named Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week

The Ontario Hockey League today announced that defenceman Yannick Weber of the Kitchener Rangers is the Boston Pizza OHL Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday October 28, 2007. Weber recorded five goals and three assists for eight points while guiding the Rangers to three consecutive victories.

On Wednesday October 24th, Weber registered two goals and one assist for three points in a 7-0 victory over the Erie Otters. He was named the games first star. Two nights later, Weber scored a pair of goals leading the Rangers to a 5-2 win over the Windsor Spitfires. On Sunday October 28th, the 19 year-old native of Bern, Switzerland netted a goal and two assists for three points in a 3-0 victory over the London Knights.His efforts weren’t overlooked as he was named the games first star.

Weber is in his second season with the Kitchener Rangers and is currently in second place in scoring amongst all OHL defencemen with 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists). The Rangers sit atop the Midwest Division with 22 points.
