CALGARY, AB. – The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is forward Jason Reese of the Tri City Americans.
Reese picked up seven points in three games during the week of October 22nd through to October 28th. He scored three goals, four assists and was a plus three, helping the Americans to a 2-1 record in that span.
On Wednesday, October 24th, the Americans hosted the Brandon Wheat Kings at the Toyota Centre. Reese picked up 2 assists and scored in the shoot out to lift his Americans to a 5-4 shoot out win over the Wheat Kings.
On Friday, October 26th, division rivals, the Portland Winter Hawks, traveled into the Tri City area to take on the Americans. Reese scored the hat-trick, netting three goals and one assist in the Americans 5-1 win over Portland. He was also named the games 1st Star.
On Saturday, October 27th, the Americans faced another U.S. Division rival, the Everett Silvertips. Reese picked up an assist on the Americans lone goal as the Silvertips managed to edge out the Americans 2-1.
With the Tri City Americans picking up four out of a possible six points this past week, they find themselves tied for first place in the WHL U.S. Division.
Reese, a 19-year-old product from Gresham, OR is in his fourth season in the Western Hockey League and will be eligible at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
The WHL has also nominated Ryan Holfeld of the Medicine Hat Tigers for the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week award.
