Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
8.5 C C 6-2 205 lbs. Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers add to their size and depth down the middle with big Finnish center Aleksander Barkov. He may not be a flashy center but will get his job done at both ends of the rink. One of the younger prospects in the 2013 draft, he has already found success against men in Finland's top pro league, the SM-liiga.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
9.0 C LW 5-11 176 lbs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Tampa Bay adds another supremely skilled forward to their lineup in Jonathan Drouin. He challenged his teammate MacKinnon all season long for the title of best QMJHL draft prospect, using his vision, hands, and offensive instincts to propel the Halifax offense. Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
9.0 C D 6-3 201 lbs. Nashville Predators

Nashville has the draft's best defenseman fall into its lap at 4th overall. Jones has all the tools to be a top blueliner in the NHL. Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.5 B C 6-0 192 lbs. Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes hold onto the 5th pick and use it on a well-rounded forward in Elias Lindholm. Lindholm is a cerebral player that can succeed in any role asked. Not the biggest player on the ice, but he does not shy away from the tough areas of the ice.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
8.0 C C 6-2 187 lbs. Calgary Flames

The Flames address their limited depth down the middle with two-way center Sean Monahan. He has the versatility and hockey sense to succeed in all situations and will be a key piece of the Calgary offense going forward.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
8.0 C D 6-5 192 lbs. Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers drafted Darnell Nurse at 7th overall, the first time since 1989 the team has used its first draft pick on a defenseman. Nurse joins an already strong group of defensive prospects, providing much-needed size and devastating physical ability that the Oilers crave.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
8.0 B D 6-3 207 lbs. Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres add size to their defensive pipeline with Finnish defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen. A skilled blueliner with a great shot, Ristolainen is a confident player with the puck on his stick. He is reliable defensively and has the ability to make a difference with his size in the physical game.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
8.5 C RW 6-4 196 lbs. Dallas Stars

Jim Nill's first pick as GM of the Dallas Stars has the potential to be a home run pick, as Valeri Nichushkin is finally taken off the board at #10. A physically-gifted player with size, skill, and explosiveness, Nichushkin has the tools to make the Stars look very smart with this pick.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.5 B D 6-6 203 lbs. Philadelphia Flyers

Standing at 6'6, Morin brings a great deal of size to the Philadelphia blue line. He is considered fairly mobile for his size and is able to move the puck, but his greatest asset is his tough, physical play.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
8.0 D C 5-10 194 lbs. Arizona Coyotes

The Phoenix Coyotes pick the son of a former NHL player for the third year in a row. Domi is a stocky, tenacious forward who is very good in one-on-one situations. He is also very strong on the puck, and battles hard in the corners. He has the potential to be a top six forward in the NHL, but is smart and tough enough to also fill a checking role.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.5 C D 6-0 183 lbs. Winnipeg Jets

Morrissey is an undersized offensive defenseman who possesses an immense amount of talent. He is a strong, fast skater who plays far bigger than his 5'11 frame would suggest. Though Morrissey remains a bit of a project at this point, he has the tools to be a top-pairing defenseman able to play in all situations.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.5 B C 6-1 183 lbs. Columbus Blue Jackets

Wennberg is a strong versatile forward with immense hockey sense and excellent skating ability. His game is not overly flashy, but he possesses good puck skills and is equally capable of scoring and making plays.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.5 C D 6-1 211 lbs. New York Islanders

The Islanders add yet another dynamic puck-moving defenseman in Ryan Pulock. Projected as an offensive defenseman, Pulock has one of the hardest shots in the entire draft and superior on-ice vision. He remains a bit of a project however, as his skating needs to be upgraded.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.5 C D 6-5 228 lbs. Buffalo Sabres

A massive Russian defenseman who spent last season in the OHL, Zadorov brings size and devestating physicality to the Buffalo Sabres blue line. Depending on how he develops over the next two seasons, Zadorov could be one of the top defensemen to come out of the 2013 draft class. At the very least he should be a servicable middle pairing defenseman.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.5 B C 6-0 198 lbs. Ottawa Senators

Curtis Lazar brings a great deal of toughness and character to the Ottawa Senators. It is uncertain how much offensive upside Lazar possesses, but he should at least develop into a very good top nine forward who provides a great deal of leadership.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.5 C D 6-3 187 lbs. San Jose Sharks

The Swiss-born Mueller brings a smart, efficient game to the San Jose blue line. He is good at both ends of the ice and can move the puck well, though his game is fairly understated in terms of offense or physical play. He projects as a two-way defenseman capable of playing a lot of minutes.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.0 B LW 6-1 200 lbs. Columbus Blue Jackets

With their second pick in the 2013 draft, the Blue Jackets select Kerby Rychel, a rugged forward who spent the past two seasons with the Windsor Spitfires. Rychel brings a solid mix of skill and toughness, and has a game that should translate well to the pros.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
8.0 C RW 6-4 187 lbs. Detroit Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings get a pure goal-scorer in Mantha. The only 2013 draft eligible to score 50 goals in the CHL, Mantha also possesses fantastic size. He remains a project at this point, as his overall game lacks consistency.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.0 C C 6-5 215 lbs. Toronto Maple Leafs

Gauthier is coming off an extremely impressive rookie season in the QMJHL, where he managed 60 points in 62 regular season games with Rimouski. Possessing impressive size, Gauthier can play in all situations, though at this point he projects more as a defensive forward who can pitch in offensively.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.0 C RW 6-0 168 lbs. Calgary Flames

Poirier brings a special mix of skill and character to a Flames team in need of offensive depth. Considerd to be a bit of an off-the-board pick, Poirier seemingly came out of nowhere in 2012-13 to post 70 points and 100 penalty minutes for Gatineau.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
8.0 C LW 6-1 176 lbs. Washington Capitals

Burakowsky is an explosive player who spent the 2012-13 season playing for the Malmo Redhawks. He has solid puck skills and is good at using his speed to create space for himself and others. He is not the most offensively skilled player in the draft, but creates a lot of chances by driving to the net.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.5 D LW 5-11 175 lbs. Vancouver Canucks

One of the most gifted offensive players in the 2013 draft, Shinkaruk possesses natural goal-scoring ability and a tough, competitive nature. He is a very strong skater with good balance, so despite his smallish frame, he should be able to match up against larger defensemen. Shinkaruk projects as a top-six forward though he has to improve his play away from the puck.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.5 C RW 6-5 229 lbs. Montreal Canadiens

McCarron is hulking forward with a long reach. He possesses decent skating for his size and though his overall game is pretty raw at this point, he should at least develop into a solid checking forward for the Canadiens, if not something much more.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.5 C D 6-2 175 lbs. Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks continue to add talented defensive prospects at the top of the draft. Theodore is a smooth-skating blueliner who can make a huge impact in the offensive end and on the powerplay. His defensive game is still a work in progress and he must fill out his 6'2 frame.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.0 B C 6-0 214 lbs. Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets go overseas again with their third pick of the first round with forward Marko Dano. An aggressive forward who brings energy to every shift, Dano also possesses excellent hockey sense and playmaking ability. He is not a big player but does not back down from the physical aspects of the game.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.0 C LW 5-11 180 lbs. Calgary Flames

Calgary's third forward selection of the first round is Morgan Klimchuk, a character forward that can fit into any spot in the lineup. He is an intelligent player at both ends of the ice and does the little things to help his team win. He has an excellent shot and the hockey sense to play with skilled players as well.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.5 C LW 6-2 176 lbs. Dallas Stars

The Stars draft another forward with their second pick of the first round. Jason Dickinson is a bit of a project pick, but he is a versatile, speedy forward. He works hard at both ends of the ice but is still growing into his frame. His play fell off late in the year and proving he can make a more consistent impact will be key to his development.

Talent Score: Prob. of Success: Position: Height: Weight: Team:
7.0 C RW 5-11 190 lbs. Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks finish the first round by selecting a native of Northbrook, Illinois in Ryan Hartman. He is a hard-nosed winger that makes life difficult for the opposition. He battles for his chances in and around the net, and even though he is not particularly large, he finds a way to be effective in the dirty areas.
