Team Finland has moved on to a semifinal showdown with host Switzerland at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship. The Finns advanced after shutting out Slovakia, 3-0, while the Swiss blanked the Russians, 5-0, to earn a shot at a medal. The two countries will faceoff on Saturday in Zug, Switzerland. Read more »

In what could be a game that decides which country takes home gold at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship, Team USA will faceoff against Team Canada in a semifinal match on Saturday. Team USA has moved on to the semifinals at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship after taking a quarterfinal match from the Czech Republic, 7-2. Fourteen players chipped in on offense for the U.S. in that game, including six players registering two points apiece. Read more »

Team Russia won all four of their preliminary round games to finish atop Group A before being eliminated in the playoff round by Switzerland at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship.

Each U18 tournament brings an upset or two, and the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship has been no different. Probably the biggest upset took place in a quarter-final game today, with host country Switzerland eliminating Russia in a shocking 5-0 win. The Swiss had not beaten the Russians at this tournament since 1999, which was the first year for the U18. Read more »

2015 U18 World Championship: Pantkowski, Eder hoping Germany can avoid relegation

Team Germany needs to win the final two games of their relegation round series at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship to avoid being dropped to the next lowest division.

As was expected pre-tournament, Team Germany is locked in a relegation round battle at the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship with Latvia. Germany finds themselves on the brink of relegation to Division I, Group A as a result of a 5-3 loss to Latvia in the first game of a best-of-three series.
