The faces have changed, but the venue remains the same for the 2015 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game as many of the top American-born prospects for the 2016 NHL Draft will go head-to-head at First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York this evening. Read more »

In performances you would expect from the first and second overall picks in the 2015 NHL Draft, Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel led their respective teams to prospect tournament victories. There were also a pair of firsts, as 2016 hopeful Auston Matthews tallied his first goal in Zurich, Switzerland and Joseph Veleno, the first exceptional player from Quebec, scored his first QMJHL goal. Meanwhile, Calgary’s crease is loaded, but Jon Gillies is making sure he’s not forgotten, and another former prospect goaltender has a little fun with what’s left of his offseason in a remake of a cult-classic film. At the recent Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, the international ice hockey community got to see a number of young men available for the 2016 and even 2017 drafts. In Milos Roman of Slovakia, it witnessed a player first eligible for the 2018 draft, but you’d never have known it with the way he played, taking a regular shift on the team’s third line. Although only 16 years of age, 6’3” and 187-pound forward Adam Ruzicka was very noticeable in a top-nine role for Slovakia at the recent Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. Banging his body into opponents whenever necessary, Ruzicka seemed to improve from game to game, quickly adjusting to the demands of international hockey. Read more »
