Off the Radar: Lipon reigns supreme as chairman of the board in WHL

Despite being passed over in the NHL Draft, even passed over in the WHL Bantam Draft, J.C. Lipon leads the Western Hockey League in scoring and is a driving force behind the Kamloops Blazers' torrid start.
Humble Horvat making case for first round status

Bo knows winning. And with a Memorial Cup run and an international gold medal under his belt already at only 17, the London Knights’ Bo Horvat is poised to add a few more trophies to his mantle — along with a first-round NHL draft designation — by June.
Hunter Garlent named OHL Player of the Week

Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Hunter Garlent of the Guelph Storm is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 21 after recording eight points in three games scoring three goals and five assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-3.

What a difference a day can make.
I had the fortune of taking in the U.S. NTDP U-18 team’s first two games against college teams for this 2012-13 season, facing off against the University of Wisconsin and the University of Notre Dame back-to-back on the nights of October 6th and 7th.
