This year’s crop of draft-eligible players for the NHL Draft isn’t as strong as in recent drafts. Nevertheless, the NCAA does have some players who could hear their names called when the draft gets underway on June 30th in New Jersey.

Just hours before the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the New York Islanders Tuesday night at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA, a press conference was held to announce that the Penguins and the city of Pittsburgh would host the second annual USA Hockey/CCM All-American Prospects Game.

Kämpf, Kepka hope national team exposure helps their 2013 draft standing

Junior hockey season in the Czech Republic is already entering into its second phase, with teams in the Under-20 and Under-18 category going all in to salvage their hopes of winning their respective Extraligas. Most of the Czech-based players eligible for the upcoming NHL Draft play in the U-20 Extraliga that has now, in late January, reached the end of its regular season.

Johnson has strong family ties in USHL, NCAA

A University of North Dakota recruit who recently was named an A-List prospect by NHL Central Scouting, Luke Johnson is a 5’11”, 178-pound, two-way forward currently playing for the Lincoln Stars of the USHL.
