MacKinnon, Jones hold down top two spots in the ISS December prospect rankings

It isn't a major surprise that 2013 NHL Draft prospects Nathan MacKinnon and Seth Jones have been named captains of the two squads of draft hopefuls taking part in the 2013 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. The two players hold the #1 and #2 positions in the December rankings released by International Scouting Services, as they have for each of the rankings reports released this season by ISS.

"Nate or Seth" might not have the same ring to it that "Taylor or Tyler" had a couple years ago, but phonetics aside, Nathan MacKinnon and Seth Jones find themselves in a similar situation to Hall and Seguin before them: competing to be the first player drafted in the upcoming NHL Draft.

Jordan Thomson ranks among the top defensemen of the 2014 NHL Draft class. ISS lists Thomson 11th overall, and fourth among the defenseman available for the draft. So far in his rookie WHL season, Thomson has a goal and five assists in 23 games.
