History
Seitsonen came over to Prince Albert as an import before his draft year and put together a solid but unspectacular campaign. After averaging almost a point per game in top level Finnish junior competition, more was expected of Seitsonen, but he wasn't given a real chance to shine being behind both Jeremy Colliton and Kyle Chipchura on the depth chart.
Drafted 4th round (118th overall), 2004 by Calgary.
2007-08: Seitsonen was scratched from the first three Quad City (AHL) games before being sent to Las Vegas (ECHL) on Oct. 19. In 70 games with the club, he recorded 18 goals and assists for a total of 36 points. He added another seven goals and three assists in 21 postseason games. He was a member of a Las Vegas squad that reached the ECHL Kelly Cup Finals.
Talent Analysis
A big, smart, hard working forward, it should surprise no one that Seitsonen caught the eye of Flames scouts. His production from his days in Finland suggest there may be more offensive ability beneath the surface than he showed in 2003-04.
