History
Sekera appeared in 42 games for the junior squad, posting 5 goals, 12 assists, and an impressive +37 rating. He also earned a brief cup of coffee with the Trencin ‘B’ Club (1st division) for 5 games and the ‘A’ club (Extraleague) for 3 games and did not look overwhelmed in the least. Sekera also appeared for the Slovaks at the Viking Cup and 4-Nations tournament.

Talent Analysis
Sekera is a smart player with a nice finesse game. He is a crisp passer and strong skater, and made the most of his opportunity in the NHL late last season. He relies on positioning and reading the play in his own end, but is not afraid to take the body. He has shown leadership ability, and has been a captain.
Future
Sekera is penciled in Buffalo’s defensive rotation. In the last year of his entry-level contract, he is expected to contribute immediately, and make the permanent jump to the NHL.
