History
2006-07: The slick Czech winger had an impressive rookie season with the Halifax Mooseheads where he recorded 86 points in 59 games. Voracek won a pair of QMJHL trophies, including the Michel Bergeron Trophy for Best Offensive Rookie and the RDS Trophy for Rookie of the Year, was twice named QMJHL offensive player of the week, and was named Rookie of the Month for October 2006.
2007-08: Voracek’s late burst at the tail end of his 2006-07 season carried right through the entire 2007-08 campaign. Voracek was one of the most dominant performers in the entire CHL in a year which saw him win QMJHL offensive player of the month in October and again in January. Voracek was the most powerful weapon on a very talented Halifax Mooseheads team. He also represented Czech Republic at the U20 WJC in January, where he finished as the team’s top scorer. Voracek was named a QMJHL Second Team All-Star.
Talent Analysis
Voracek is an explosive skater, with dynamic offensive ability. He is extremely strong on the puck and has great vision. He has a very good shot, but prefers the role of a setting up his line mates. An outstanding puck distributor, Voracek sees the ice very well and passes the puck to an open man with an incredible speed and accuracy. Has a very strong defensive presence as well. Is very close to the full package, and has the work ethic and joy of the game to continue improving.
