History

2004-05: The hardworking Vancouver native quickly became accustomed to life in small town Saskatchewan, which translated to on-ice success. The 5’11 winger quickly became a fan favorite for the Warriors his effort, as well as his off-ice character, which was embraced by the locals in Moose Jaw. Of course being the team’s leading scorer with 74 points certainly helped.

McArdle assumed a leadership role inside the Warriors dressing room, especially after the club made a head coaching change after their monumentally horrid start to the season. Accepting some of the blame for the firing of his coach, McArdle spurred on the troops and led them out of the cellar at Christmas and into a playoff spot by the end of the year.

McArdle’s 74 points represented a sharp increase in his production over the previous year when he totaled just 16 points in 54 games. The CHL’s Top Prospect game was a notable highlight for McArdle and he quickly noticed an increase in attention from pro scouts after his performance. The extremely likeable forward earned the respect of his coach and his peers. He was one of 44 players invited to the Canadian Junior Development Camp.

2005-06: Averaged nearly a point per game with a total of 71 (28 goals, 43 assists) in 72 games with the Warriors. He finished fourth on his team in scoring, and led his team in penalty minutes with 135. He had 6 goals, 10 assists and a total 43 penalty minutes in 22 postseason games.

2006-07: McArdle began the season with Moose Jaw where he played a total 26 games and tallied 20 points before he was traded to the Vancouver Giants (WHL) in late November. He totaled 22 points and 54 penalty minutes in 37 games with the Giants.

2007-08: McArdle began his first professional season with the Rochester Americans, scoring five goals and five assists in 36 games.  Early in the year he suffered a broken jaw in a fight. He completed the tail end of the season in the ECHL with the Florida Everblades, scoring three goals and an assist in six games.
