History
Gerbe was the team's seventh leading scorer, putting up 39 points (18 goals, 21 assists). He came up big at the Five Nations Tournament and was the Team USA's second leading scorer at the 2005 IIHF World Under-18 World Championship.
2006-07: A top-six forward for Jerry York’s BC Eagles, and played for Team USA for the 2007 U-20 WJC.
Talent Analysis
Gerbe was one of the top players in college hockey this past season, helping to lead BC to the NCAA Championship. He uses excellent speed and an ability to create space to make up for his lack of size. As a well-rounded offensive player, Gerbe was able to set the tone for his teammates, and provided a spark throughout the season. He looks to follow Buffalo’s Briere/Roy mold of diminutive but aggressive centers.
Future
Gerbe is signed to an entry level contract. He is slated to start with the Portland Pirates, but will have the opportunity to crack Buffalo’s roster this season.
