History

2003-04: Rakhshani played 56 games for the California Wave (Midget AAA) and was a major contributor tallying 121 points (54 goals, 67 assists) in the final year of his seven year tenure with the Wave.

2004-05: Rakhshani continued to be a force on the score sheet and in the locker room playing for the USNTDP U-17 Team. In 63 games he tallied 43 points (19 goals, 24 assists) and was named as one of the team’s assistant captain. He also contributed four points (one goal, three assists) as the team won the Four Nations Cup.

2005-06: Rakhshani continued his strong play with the U-18 team. In 59 games, he had the fourth highest point total on the team with 49 (24 goals, 25 assists). He played in all 22 games against NCAA competition. He recorded 11 (four goals, seven assists) of his 49 points in these games. He helped Team USA win the IIHF World Championship for the 2nd straight season, scoring a key game-tying goal in the championship game. 

2006-07: Played his freshman season with the University of Denver, where he totaled 10 goals, 26 assists for 36 points and 38 penalty minutes in 40 games.

2007-08: In his second season with the University of Denver (WCHA), Rakhshani recorded 28 points (14+14) in 37 games. In just two pro games with the Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL) that season, he was held scoreless and finished with a -1 rating.

Talent Analysis

Rakhshani is not big, but he is a very good skater, quick with very good hands. His main quality is probably his capacity to read the play very well and send the puck right on the tape of his teammates in motion.

Future

Rakhshani will turn pro in 2010-11.
