History
2006-07: Played his junior and final season with Eau Claire Memorial H.S. in Wisconsin. He left as Memorial's all-time scoring leader with a total of 151 points in 71 games played. He was named All-BRC, and All-State during the regular season and he also named to the All-State Tournament Team. Competed in the Upper Midwest High School Elite League with Team Wisconsin. He led the league in scoring with 46 points (23 goals, 23 assists) in 12 games. Selected by the Green Bay Gamblers in the 11th round of the 2006 USHL Entry Draft with the 123rd overall pick.
2007-08: Decided to forgo his senior season at Eau Claire Memorial. Informed the Gamblers he was intent on playing in the USHL this past season, but asked to have his rights moved. Was traded to the Omaha Lancers and reported. Didn’t put up strong numbers as it took him sometime to adjust to the speed and skill of the league.
Talent Analysis
Soley has decent size and is good on his skates but could improve his quickness. He’s very aggressive on the forecheck and is very good one-on-one. Works well in corners and around the net and can execute in traffic. He plays with a visible edge and does not shy away from contact. Possess good hands and moves the puck well but at times holds on the puck too long.
Future
Soley will continue his career at Michigan Tech starting next fall.
