History
2007-08: Played for the Dallas Stars Midget AAA team. Also saw action in two NAHL games for the Texas Tornado. Finished the season with Allen High School team. Selected in the 4th round, 35th overall in the 2008 USHL Entry Draft by the Omaha Lancers.
2008-09: Played first season in the USHL for the Omaha Lancers. Named to the USHL’s Western Division All-Star Team. Missed time due to reoccurring knee injury. Was not selected in the 2009 NHL draft.
Talent Analysis
A big power forward type but lacks overall size. Definitely needs to add muscle. Will go get you those dirty goals. Uses body effectively in the corners and in tight. Needs to work on skating, but knee injury set him back in his first draft year.
Former teammate Jake Hauswirth told HF about Daugherty: "He's a hard worker. Great kid, great teammate, great human being. Down to earth type of guy. He's a tough guy, he can fight when he needs to. He can do it all."
