2009-10: Played his freshman season at the University of Wisconsin.  In 41 games for the Badgers, Ramage scored 2 goals and added 10 assists for 12 points.  He also picked up 51 penalty minutes on the season.

2010-11: Ramage had solid sophomore season for the University of Wisconsin, scoring one goal with 10 assists and a plus 7 rating while taking 59 PIMs in 37 NCAA games. He was played in all types of defensive situations this season by the Badgers' coaching staff.
Ramage was Team USA's captain at the World Junior Championships, helping the team to win a bronze medal. He was not able to contribute offensively but still managed a plus two rating while providing dependable defense for the Americans throughout the tournament.

Talent Analysis

Ramage has excellent hockey sense in all zones of the ice and shows character with leadership qualities by always giving a maximum effort while exerting his physical presence throughout the game. The average sized defenseman plays with patience, poise and has a strong puck moving game. He will play at least one more year at Wisconsin, but has the potential to develop into a very capable defensive-defenseman with some offensive upside at the NHL level.

Future

Ramage has already informed the Flames' management that he has more things he would like to accomplish at the University of Wisconsin in his junior year. The physical defenseman will be playing a bigger role offensively while playing on both the power play and penalty killing units. He will provide leadership, character and a more overall game from the backend.
