History
2007-08: Beukeboom played for the Central Ontario AAA Wolves. He was chosen in the first round (18th overall) of the 2008 OHL Priority Selection by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
2008-2009: Beukeboom was strictly a defenseman as an OHL rookie with Sault Ste. Marie after playing forward in youth hockey. He scored 2 goals with 9 assists and was -11 with 26 PIM in 55 games for a Greyhounds’ team that won just 19 games. Beukeboom played for Canada Ontario in the World U-17 Challenge and had 1 assist with 6 PIM in six games.
2009-2010: Beukeboom had a much bigger role as the Greyhounds finished in third-place in the OHL West division in his second season. Beukeboom scored 7 goals (three on the power play), with 19 assists and was -9 with 64 PIM. Beukeboom appeared in just one playoff game in the Greyhounds' first round series with Plymouth after receiving a four-game suspension for a late season boarding incident. Beukeboom played for Team Cherry at the 2010 CHL Top Prospects Game. He represented Canada at the WJC U-18 tournament and had 1 assist in 4 games with 2 PIM.

2010-11: Beukeboom was a team captain for the OHL's Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds but was limited to 44 games after suffering a season-ending concussion in February 2011. Playing for a Greyhounds' team that would finish with the OHL's fourth-worst record, he finished -11 and scored 1 goal with 7 assists. The Blues acquired the rights to Beukeboom from Tampa Bay along with a 2011 third-round draft pick in exchange for defenseman Eric Brewer in a February 2011 trade.
Talent Analysis
Beukeboom is the son of former NHL defenseman Jeff Beukeboom. He is a defensive defenseman that also has some offensive ability and a skill component to his game. Beukeboom can play with a mean streak when warranted, but is more of a two-way player than was his father, who was one of the tougher players on the Wayne Gretzky-led Oilers and won four Stanley Cups. The younger Beukeboom, a forward during much of his youth hockey career, has the ability to join the attack and has a hard shot. As expected, he is still dealing with learning the position and is sometimes caught outside the play. And he will need to improve his agility and read-and-respond time as he progresses to pro hockey. Beukeboom has a strong work ethic and is constantly seeking to improve.
Future
Beukeboom has been dealt to the OHL's Niagara IceDogs to bolster that team's try for the 2012 OHL and Memorial Cup championships.
