History
Minnesota's 9th choice (6th round), 175th overall, in 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
2007-08: The big enforcer played the majority of the season for the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL although he started the season for the WBS Penguins, playing two games in October.
Talent Analysis
Boogaard wasn’t drafted to score goals. He’s a physical force who can and is expected to mix it up. He is five inches shorter and about 30 pounds lighter than his older brother Derek, but he is still a capable enforcer. He’s also a natural athlete, having once set a provincial swimming record in his home province of Saskatchewan.
Future
Depending on how he performs in training camp, Boogaard will either start for the Penguins AHL or ECHL affiliate.
