The Carolina Hurricanes prospects list might look thin, but given the young talent already in the NHL it is easy to understand why. Five players drafted by the team since 2010 are already full-time Hurricanes or on the cusp of making the leap. 23 players will represent the United States at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship (WJC) that begins on Dec. 26th in Montreal and Toronto. Two of Team USA's five wins at the 2014 IIHF U18 World Championship have been shutouts. The first shutout, a 3-0 win over the Czech Republic, was posted by starting netminder Alex Nedeljkovic, while backup Edwin Minney got the win in a 7-0 victory over Denmark.

In Team USA's Day 2 win over Russia at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, the star of the game was goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic. The Russians sent 37 shots on goal in the game, with Nedeljkovic stopping 35 of them to get the win.
