2004-05: Edler played with Modo’s junior squad and received far more exposure. He put up great numbers in the junior league and demonstrated offensive dominance.

2005-06: He was selected by Kelowna (WHL) in the 2005 CHL Import Draft, and made the tough decision to cross the Atlantic Ocean to participate in the WHL season.  Edler ended up being one of the top rookies in the league, scoring 53 points in 62 games.

2006-07: Edler transitioned to the AHL, where he appeared in 49 games with the Manitoba Moose, posting five goals and 21 assists.  His strong play earned him several call-ups to the NHL, where he played 22 regular season and three playoff games.

Talent Analysis
Edler is an offensively gifted defender. He displays good skating ability for his frame and makes that all important first pass out of the defensive zone that coaches love.  His defensive play has improved by leaps and bounds since coming to North America, although his physicality remains low for a player of his size and mobility.  Edler has all the physical tools and raw talent to be star defender.
