The Boston Bruins have most of their prime prospects playing at the professional level in North America, but there are still a few prominent names that are currently playing in Europe or at the collegiate level.

The first quarter of the Swedish Hockey League’s 2013-14 season has come and passed, and there’s plenty to be happy about in the scouting community. The number of young, recently drafted players currently dotting the rosters of both SHL and Allsvenskan (second highest men’s professional league in Sweden) clubs is about as impressive as ever, as professional teams continue to have little concern about going to battle with line-ups that often only feature an average age of 23-25.

The Boston Bruins have not been afraid to acquire prospects, whether by draft or trade. Love it or hate it, the Tyler Seguin trade gave the Bruins even more depth in their minor league system. Reilly Smith is currently in the NHL while Matt Fraser and Joe Morrow are considered to be close to NHL ready and valuable commodities.

Despite not having a first round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft, the Boston Bruins had several late picks that could turn out to be steals when all is said and done. There were rumors that Tyler Seguin might be moved at the draft, however that trade came in the following days, when he was moved in package to the Dallas Stars as part of a blockbuster seven-player trade.
