History
Drafted 4th round (#116 overall), 2006 by Columbus
Wright was expected to go fairly high heading into his draft year but fell into lower rounds. The cause of the slip for Wright, who caught the attention of many western scouts in his draft year, may have due to skating concerns.
Played four years for the WHL Lethbridge Hurricanes. His most productive year offensively was his draft year. Played on the power play but also would fight a bit.
Signed with the ECHL Elmira Jackals in 2009-10 but left for Canadian college mid-season.
Talent Analysis
An intelligent, diligent offensive defenseman with a strong work ethic. Wright still needs to bring his skating up to the level of the rest of his game.
