History

2002-03: Played for the Tri-City Storm of the USHL. Was the team's leading scorer.

2003-04: Played final year for the Storm of the USHL, where he was the team’s leading scorer again. Named to the league’s All-Star game and finished leading the league as the top scorer in the post season.

2004-05: Played freshman year at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Went onto lead all freshmen in scoring that year, which earned him CCHA Rookie of the Year honors. He also earned a spot on the CCHA All-Rookie Team and made the CCHA Second Team.

2005-06: Played sophomore year for the Mavericks where he skated with the team’s top offensive unit, which also accounted for 39 percent of the team’s offense. He went onto to lead the Mavericks in goals, which also helped UNO earn its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance in the programs seventh year of existence. Even though the Maverick’s tourney berth was short-lived, Thomas' season was far from over. He signed with Phoenix as an unrestricted free agent and skated out the rest of 2005-06 season with the Coyotes in the NHL.

2006-07: Started the season with the San Antonio Rampage in the AHL. He was one of the team's consistent offensive forces. He earned a call up during the second half of the season and remained with the Coyotes  for the rest of the year.

Talent Analysis

Thomas is a patient, a goal scorer who knows where to go, and anticipates the game pretty well. Has an above average hockey sense.
