History
Named Player of the Year and Goalie of the year in the USHL in 2001-02. Member of the 2002 US Viking Cup team. Named to the USHL All Rookie team in 2000-01.
6th round, 171st overall in 2002 by the Penguins.
2005-06: Goepfert reestablished himself with a stellar season with the St. Cloud Huskies. Leaving Providence in 2004 meant that Goepfert’s career was in jeopardy, but he salvaged his reputation with a season that saw him carrying the Huskies outfit to new heights.
Goepfert was rewarded for his efforts with a first team All-WCHA selection, as well as winning St. Cloud State’s MVP award for the season. He finished the year with a 2.20 goals against average, .924 save percentage and three shutouts.
2006-07: Top 10 finalist for the Hobey Baker award in his senior year.
Unsigned by the Penguins, Anaheim signed him as a free agent.

Talent Analysis
Good glove hand. Reacts quickly to the puck and never gets caught cheating to one side. Strong puck handler and clears the puck in front of the net well. One of the most fearless in front of the pipes.
Future
Goepfert will compete with J-P Levasseur for the title of Anaheim's goaltender of the future. Although four years of age separate them and they are at different stages of development, finding a way for them both to get quality minutes in the upcoming season will be a challenge.
