History

2010-11: Brendan Perlini skated for the Belle Tire bantam AAA team in suburban Detroit after playing his youth hockey in his hometown of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He scored 18 goals with 17 assists and had 17 penalty minutes in 31 games.

2011-12: Perlini was the second-leading scorer for the Belle Tire U16 midget team. He scored 21 goals with 23 assists and had 20 penalty minutes in 40 regular season games. Belle Tire finished first in the Tier 1 Elite league’s Great Lakes Division Perlini scored 4 goals with 3 assists in seven playoff games. He was selected by the Barrie Colts in the first round (16th overall) of the 2012 OHL Priority Draft.

2012-13: Perlini began his first OHL season with Barrie before being obtained by Central Division rival Niagara in January in a mid-season trade. He scored 1 goal with 1 assist and was -6 with 4 penalty minutes in 32 games in limited ice time with the first-place Colts before the trade to the fourth-place IceDogs. He scored 7 goals with 3 assists and was -15 with 4 penalty minutes in 27 games with Niagara. The IceDogs reached the playoffs despite finishing under .500 and Perlini scored 1 goal with 2 assists and 4 penalty minutes in the five game series with Oshawa.

2013-14: Perlini attended Hockey Canada’s U18 camp before returning to Niagara for his first full season with the IceDogs.

The calendar has flipped over to May, but the top 10 in the ISS Hockey ranking of the 2014 NHL Draft prospects looks an awful lot like the top of the order in April's rankings.

So far, so good for Canada at the 2014 IIHF U18 World Championship as they've started the tournament with a couple of wins. Their opening win came against Sweden, a solid 3-1 triumph that got the Canadiens off on the right foot in defense of their 2013 gold medal.

On the eve of the NHL Draft Lottery, ISS Hockey has released their April ranking of the top 30 prospects for the 2014 NHL Draft. And, as a result of some strong playoff performances by a pair of players, there has been some re-shuffling at the top of the order since the March edition of this list.

As the 2013-14 season progresses, the order at the top of the ISS Hockey 2014 NHL Draft rankings seems to have further solidified. Case in point: the top five prospects in the March rankings is the same order as the top five from the February rankings.

ISS Draft Rankings: Ekblad, Reinhart still 1-2 in the 2014 draft rankings

ISS Hockey has released their February rankings for the 2014 NHL Draft, with the upper portion of those rankings looking very familiar.

The top six prospects from last month's rankings are the same six players holding down those slots in this month's list. And in fact, the players are ranked exactly as they were in January, so the ISS view of the draft's top prospects seems to be more settled as the 2013-14 regular season heads towards its conclusion.
